Who It’s For
Prior Experience
Previous acting or performance training is recommended. Participants who have some background in drama, stage, or screen performance will be best placed to engage with the level of work delivered. Professional experience, however, is not required – this workshop is designed to develop and challenge young performers at the next stage of their training, not exclusively those with professional credits.
SEND & Additional Needs
We warmly welcome young performers with SEND and additional needs. We invite parents and carers to share any relevant needs with us in advance so we can plan supportive, inclusive sessions.

Before You Arrive
Preparing for the Day

What to Wear
Presentation is part of the professional standard we uphold. Participants are expected to arrive in appropriate attire that supports movement, reflects the industry context of the programme, and meets the following requirements.
- Black T-shirt or black long-sleeve top
- Black trousers, leggings, or shorts
- Black trainers or jazz shoes
- Long hair tied back securely
- Minimal jewellery. Items that may cause injury or distraction during movement should not be worn
- Clothing that allows for free, unrestricted movement and meets professional, industry-standard presentation expectations
This dress code supports a focused, professional atmosphere and ensures all participants are ready to engage fully in both physical and performance-based work from the moment the day begins.

What to Bring
To make the most of each session, participants should arrive prepared. Please ensure your young actor brings the following each day.
- A water bottle. Staying hydrated supports focus and physical performance throughout the day
- A packed lunch. Sessions run 10am to 4pm and a proper break is built into the day
- An allergy-considerate snack. Please be mindful that participants share spaces; snacks should be clearly labelled and suitable for a shared environment
- Any medication, medical equipment, or personal necessities your child needs during the day
Please ensure all belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name. The programme takes place in a professional venue and participants are expected to take care of their belongings responsibly.
The Standard We Hold
General Expectations
The Young Actors Programme maintains a professional working environment throughout. All participants are expected to:
- Be prepared to move – sessions include physical and movement-based work as a core element of performance training
- Work collaboratively – ensemble skills are central to stage and screen performance, and participants will be asked to lead, support, and contribute within group work
- Listen actively – the ability to take direction, respond to feedback, and stay focused is a fundamental professional skill that is practised throughout each session
- Be respectful – to tutors, practitioners, fellow participants, and the venue at all times
- Engage fully – participants are encouraged to commit to every session with energy, openness, and a professional attitude
Who Delivers It
The Young Actors Programme is structured to provide young performers with high-quality, focused instruction delivered by experienced practitioners.
The intended delivery structure for intensive workshops is as follows.
01
Lead Teacher
Each workshop is led by Liam Kelly, a specialist lead teacher responsible for planning and delivering the programme. The lead tutor sets the tone, pace, and professional standard of the sessions from day one.
02
Assistant
An assistant supports the lead teacher across sessions, contributing to the smooth running of the day and ensuring each participant receives appropriate attention throughout the programme.
03
Guest Practitioners
Guest practitioners may contribute to certain sessions where appropriate, bringing additional industry perspective to the programme. Their involvement is considered on a workshop-by-workshop basis.
